Applied Materials, Kioxia Collaborate to Develop AI Memory Technology

04:54 PM EDT, 09/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Applied Materials (AMAT) said late Tuesday flash memory supplier Kioxia will join its Silicon Valley innovation center to support the development of next-generation storage technologies. The companies plan to co-develop advanced memory-cell structures and multi-chip stacking architectures to increase data density for artificial intelligence infrastructure, Applied Materials said. The collaboration will also focus on new materials engineering approaches and packaging services to support large-scale manufacturing, the semiconductor equipment maker said.
