Supply Bottlenecks Cloud Arm's Surging AI Chip Demand -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/08/06 09:340934 GMT - Chip designer Arm Holdings is seeing massive demand for its upcoming AI processor, though supply-chain bottlenecks are temporarily holding back updated revenue forecasts, says CFO Jason Child. While initial projections pointed to $1 billion in revenue from the AI processor across this fiscal year and next, orders have surged past $2 billion, he says. However, Child warns that constraints, mainly around wafer capacity, prevent the company from confirming how much of this incremental demand they can currently ship. Despite these hurdles, Arm expects demand to double again in the following years, driven by a rapidly expanding order pipeline and new key customers, he adds. (jie.yang@wsj.com)
