U.S. Cryptocurrency Sector Plunges, Riot Blockchain Falls More Than 6 Percent
U.S. stocks opened with the Dow up 0.15 per cent, the SP 500 up 0.04 per cent, and the Nasdaq down 0.05 per cent. Shopify (SHOP.N) jumped 20 per cent on a 26 per cent year-on-year increase in third-quarter revenue. Bitcoin retreated from its highs, and cryptocurrency concepts fell, with Riot Blockchain (RIOT.O) dropping more than 6%, Coinbase (COIN.O) dropping more than 4%, and MicroStrategy (MSTR.O) dropping nearly 2%.
