Galaxy: Harris More Friendly Than Biden on Cryptocurrency Policy, But Less So Than Trump

On Oct. 15, U.S. presidential candidate Kamala Harris was more friendly on cryptocurrency policy than incumbent President Joe Biden, but less so than Trump, according to an analysis by Galaxy Research. Harris has promised to improve the regulatory environment for the U.S. crypto industry, but has taken a more cautious stance on issues such as taxes, bitcoin mining, and self-hosting, while Trump has supported bitcoin mining and promised to protect self-hosting rights. Nonetheless, Harris' policies may be more constructive than Biden's.

Although more and more data centers are being built, white-collar employment opportunities have not increased accordingly. According to the latest research by the Dallas Federal Reserve, Texas—the state with the largest data center construction capacity in the U.S.—is experiencing a continued decline in job postings for positions highly exposed to AI, with a drop of about 8% in the first quarter of 2025. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate for recent college graduates has risen to “abnormally high levels.” At the same time, data from the International Labour Organization (ILO) shows that the youth unemployment rate in North America has increased from 8.3% to 9.8%.
