The leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, started the critical week, which will see the release of important economic data and decisions, by falling below $80,000, but subsequently rose above that level. However, despite the recovery, uncertainty for BTC continues, while some treasury companies continued their purchases this week, and others paused.

Firstly, Strategy, the world’s largest publicly traded Bitcoin holder, paused its BTC purchases this week after five weeks of buying.

According to a statement by Strategy founder Michael Saylor, Strategy did not make any Bitcoin purchases this week. The company had purchased BTC for the past five consecutive weeks. However, the company’s Bitcoin holdings remain at 848,517 BTC.

In response, the company repurchased STRC’s preferred shares, valued at $205 million.

Saylor noted that Strategy also holds $5.1 billion in assets, adding that the company’s dollar-denominated assets could cover current preferred stock dividends and interest payments for approximately 3.4 years.

“Strategy has repurchased STRC worth 205M. As of October 25, 2026, we hold 848,517 BTC and $5.1 billion in USD assets.”

Despite Strategy pausing its purchases, Strive continued its acquisitions and bought an additional 6,182 Bitcoin last week. With this purchase, Strive’s total Bitcoin holdings rose to 43,000 BTC.

Ethereum Purchases Continue!

Bitmine, the world’s largest holder of ETH, also announced last week that it purchased an additional 10,452 ETH, bringing its total holdings to 6,051,933 ETH. According to the announcement, this represents 4.95% of the total circulating ETH supply.

The official statement indicated that Bitmine’s total assets, including cryptocurrency, cash, marketable securities, and strategic investment assets, amount to $15 billion.

This figure includes 6.05 million ETH, 215 Bitcoin, $582 million in cash and marketable securities, $180 million worth of Beast Industries shares, and $76 million worth of Eightco Holdings shares.

Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee stated, “Cryptocurrencies were dragged down by the same ‘risk aversion’ forces behind the AI sell-off. Compared to late 2025 and early 2026, cryptocurrency pullbacks have been relatively shallow. While ETH fell 13% from its recent peak, US semiconductors fell 20% in the same timeframe. We believe this is further evidence that the cryptocurrency bull market has begun. We purchased 10,452 ETH last week. Bitmine’s success in consistently buying cryptocurrencies is unparalleled by any publicly traded company in the world. Bitmine has purchased ETH every week since the launch of its ETH Treasury Strategy on June 30, 2025.”

Solana Procurement Announced Too!

Last week, Nasdaq-listed company DeFi Development Corp. announced it had purchased an additional 5,346 Solana, bringing its total SOL holdings to $2.595 million. The company also stated that it generated additional SOL and commission revenue by using its SOL holdings for staking and operating its own validator.

This acquisition came as Alpenglow, a significant upgrade to Solana’s consensus protocol, went live on the mainnet on October 21, marking a crucial milestone in the network’s evolution.

The company’s CEO, Joseph Onorati, stated, “Alpenglow is a landmark moment for Solana and cryptocurrencies more broadly. When transactions are finalized in a fraction of a second, the possibilities for payments and financial markets expand significantly. We believe Solana has laid the foundation for next-generation finance, and we continue to accumulate and multiply SOL to give our shareholders the opportunity to take advantage of this opportunity.”
