The IMF and BlackRock Are Both Speaking At Ripple (XRP) Swell 2026

TimesTabloidTimesTabloid2026/10/23 16:03

The images show two sessions that have caught significant attention across the XRP community. Speakers from both the International Monetary Fund and BlackRock will take the stage.

Two Sessions That Tell a Story

The first session is scheduled for 1:10 PM on Tuesday. Titled “From Allocation to Adoption: How Asset Managers are Building Digital Asset Strategies,” it features Max Stein of BlackRock alongside Brian Oliver of Ripple, Alastair Sewell of Aviva Investors, and Thomas Sy of New York Life. The session runs 30 minutes and sits squarely within the Platinum Summit track.

The second session begins at 2:30 PM the same day. “Accelerating Stablecoin Adoption” features Tobias Adrian of the International Monetary Fund, Ryan Lawler of Axios, Caroline Pham of MoonPay, and Luke Boland of Standard Chartered. That session also runs 30 minutes under the Platinum Summit label.

Both sessions are part of an invite-only institutional track, which means the audience in the room will likely be filled with senior finance executives.

Who is in the Room?

Tobias Adrian serves as Director of the Monetary and Capital Markets Department at the IMF. His presence at a Ripple-hosted event focused on stablecoin adoption carries real significance. The IMF has previously highlighted XRP in key reports and has been one of the most active global institutions studying digital currency infrastructure.

Max Stein is BlackRock’s Director of Digital Assets. BlackRock has moved aggressively into the digital asset space, most visibly through its Bitcoin ETF. Rumors of a BlackRock XRP ETF have circulated for years. Stein appearing on a panel about how asset managers are building digital asset strategies signals that BlackRock’s interest extends well beyond Bitcoin.

Ripple’s Position in Institutional Finance

Swell 2026 runs October 27 to 29 at The Shed in Hudson Yards, New York. This year’s event combines Ripple’s flagship Swell conference with XRPL Apex, its developer summit, for the first time. Organizers expect over 1,500 attendees and more than 100 speakers across 80+ sessions.

The Platinum Summit sessions featuring the IMF and BlackRock reflect how seriously institutional players now engage with Ripple’s ecosystem. These are not exploratory conversations. They are scheduled sessions built around adoption, strategy, and infrastructure.

For XRP, that institutional presence is significant. As asset managers build digital asset strategies and global bodies discuss financial frameworks, XRP sits at the center of the rails being evaluated.

The participation of the IMF and BlackRock at a Ripple-hosted event confirms that those conversations are happening at the highest levels of global finance.

Western Digital CFO Refutes Claims of Peaking AI Demand: No Signs of Slowdown, Cooling Off Would Actually Help Us Catch Up with Demand Gap

Western Digital's CFO strongly supports AI storage demand, stating that hyperscale cloud providers are continuously expanding capital expenditures and are already discussing supply needs for 2030 to 2031. Although the company’s quarterly results exceeded expectations and profit guidance was raised, capital expenditures more than doubled compared to the same period last year, putting pressure on free cash flow. This has raised concerns in the market about the sustainability of investment returns in AI data centers, causing the stock to close down by about 3% on Friday.

Report: The Trump administration plans to remove some tariffs on Canadian goods to boost the midterm elections

According to media reports, the Trump administration plans to exempt certain Canadian agricultural and forestry products from the 50% tariff, with an announcement as early as this Friday. To maintain the overall scale of tariffs, this tax reduction may be offset by imposing additional tariffs on other Canadian goods. The move is mainly intended to help Maine Senator Susan Collins retain her seat in the midterm elections, while it could also benefit other Republican candidates in trade-dependent states.
