Rivian Automotive Acquires AI Simulation Startup Third Dimension AI

05:35 PM EDT, 10/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Rivian Automotive (RIVN) said on Thursday it has acquired Third Dimension AI, a developer of AI-powered 3D simulation, to speed synthetic data generation for its driver assistance and self-driving systems. The platform turns real-world data into 3D driving environments, letting Rivian's autonomy models simulate rare edge cases at scale. Third Dimension's team will join Rivian's Autonomy research and engineering groups. Financial terms were not disclosed.
