Market Chatter: Nscale in Talks for $45 Billion Anthropic Computing Deal

MT newswireMT newswire2026/10/19 23:02
07:02 PM EDT, 10/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Nscale is in talks to supply computing capacity to Anthropic in a deal potentially worth about $45 billion for a second facility at its Monarch data center campus in West Virginia, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing people familiar with the negotiations. The proposed facility would provide 460 megawatts of computing power using Nvidia's Vera Rubin artificial intelligence chips. A deal could be finalized in the coming days, although discussions remain ongoing and terms could change, Bloomberg reported. The potential agreement could support Nscale's planned initial public offering as it seeks a valuation of about $30 billion. Anthropic also has the right of first refusal on a third planned building at the Monarch campus, the report said. Nscale and Anthropic did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
