Boston Beer Faces Negative Sentiment Ahead of Q3, UBS Says

MT newswireMT newswire2026/10/16 15:58
11:58 AM EDT, 10/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Boston Beer (SAM) is still faced with negative sentiment heading into its Q3 results on Oct. 22, UBS said in a note Thursday. "Our conversations would suggest sentiment continues to lean negative as topline trends remain challenged," the note said, pointing to weakness across Twisted Tea and Truly that more than offset strong growth from its Sun Cruise beverage. UBS analysts forecast Q3 EPS of $4.21, slightly below the Visible Alpha consensus of $4.22. The report said its margin progression is encouraging but the company needs to show improvement in underlying volumes to drive sustainable earning growth. "We continue to believe greater visibility on the volume trajectory is needed before becoming more constructive," the note said. UBS kept its neutral rating and a $190 price target.
