Market Chatter: PepsiCo Says India's Energy Drink Label Ban Could Leave Products Out of Stock in 2 Months

MT newswireMT newswire2026/10/15 09:36
05:36 AM EDT, 10/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- PepsiCo (PEP) told an Indian court that the continued ban on the energy drink label could put its top products out of stock in the country within two months, Reuters reported Thursday, citing court proceedings. The Delhi High Court refused to let PepsiCo resume making drinks with the label barred by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, while the company's competitors can continue to manufacture their products, the news outlet quoted the company's lawyer Sandeep Sethi as saying. Red Bull won court relief last month from the regulator's order, while PepsiCo and others remain limited to selling existing stocks with the label, Reuters reported. PepsiCo, Red Bull, and the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
