StandX founder: Forcing token issuance does not align with our values, and I will personally contribute funds during the airdrop.
Odaily reported that StandX co-founder and CEO Aaron Gong posted on X: “Regarding the decision not to proceed with TGE this time, I want to speak frankly with everyone. Without external capital support, our TVL once reached $200 million. The team has achieved commendable results, but we still haven’t met our expectation of ranking among the top three in the industry. Based on the current fundamentals of the project, we could indeed continue to issue tokens. However, if we cannot deliver long-term value, profiting from token issuance and short-term speculation would just shift the cost onto users and the community. That would be irresponsible both externally and internally, and goes against my values. Most of our past revenue has already been used to subsidize users through SIP-2 and SIP-3. For this airdrop, besides the project’s surplus, I will also contribute personally to give back as much as possible to the community that has supported us all the way. All user funds are safe. We will ensure an orderly shutdown and clearly announce the specific arrangements for fund withdrawal, airdrops, and service cessation. Thank you to every user and team member. I regret that we couldn’t reach our expected position. We will do our best to handle everything properly at the end.”
