Oracle (ORCL.US) has once again requested that federal regulators promptly approve a natural gas pipeline to meet the power needs of its large data center project in New Mexico. Josh Pitcock, Oracle’s Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, stated in a letter to the United States Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Tuesday that if the commission continues to delay approval of the pipeline project operated by a subsidiary of Energy Transfer LP, it will “threaten the operational progress of Project Jupiter, thereby affecting related job opportunities, economic activity, and community benefits.” The pipeline, called Green Chile, will deliver approximately 400 million cubic feet of natural gas per day to supply fuel cells provided by Bloom Energy to support Project Jupiter’s operations. Currently, the pipeline’s operational date has been delayed to February 2027, much later than the previously planned start date of August 15.
