Apple has launched a new device called HomeView. Priced at $299, this smart display will serve as Apple's core product to challenge Amazon and Google, marking its entry into the smart home market. HomeView will be available on November 13 and is mainly operated through hands-free voice commands, using facial recognition technology to provide each family member with a personalized software experience. The device has no physical buttons but features a 7-inch touchscreen with a grid layout for apps, which will feel very familiar to iPhone and iPad users. Apple positions HomeView as the ideal platform to showcase the capabilities of the Siri AI assistant. With the built-in camera, the device can instantly recognize up to six different users and offer personalized responses, whether assisting with cooking, making video calls with friends and family, or playing music through its speakers. To rapidly expand its presence in the smart home market, Apple is collaborating with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric to launch a series of “Apple Home Collection” accessories, including indoor and outdoor cameras, video doorbells, thermostats, and smart locks. Apple has participated in the joint development of this hardware, with products beginning to ship in December and priced between $199 and $399.
