JPMorgan (JPM.US) Q3 revenue and EPS below expectations, fixed income trading decline drags performance
JPMorgan released its financial report for the third quarter of 2026.

Net profit was $15.305 billion, up 6% year-on-year.
The underperformance was mainly due to a decline in fixed income trading income and increased costs. Markets revenue for the quarter was $10.3 billion, up 15% year-on-year; equity trading income was $4.954 billion, a substantial increase of 49% year-on-year; fixed income trading income was $5.366 billion, down 4% year-on-year, and significantly lower than the market expectation of around $6 billion. The corporate segment had a net loss of $455 million, mainly due to the above-mentioned securities investment losses.
In terms of asset quality, credit loss provisions for the quarter were $2.743 billion, lower than $3.403 billion in the same period last year; net charge-offs were $2.2 billion, a decrease of $389 million year-on-year, mainly from wholesale business; net provision additions were $539 million, compared to $810 million last year. JPMorgan Chairman and CEO Dimon stated that all business lines performed well, but “huge fiscal deficits, sticky inflation, elevated asset prices, rising interest rates, and geopolitical conditions” continue to evolve. These forces are “perhaps manageable,” but the company “is prepared for a wide range of outcomes.”
After the financial report was released, as of the time of writing, JPMorgan's share price was down about 2.4% in premarket trading.
