According to information from Zhitong Finance APP, on Friday, Crown Castle International (CCI.US) surged over 11%, and American Tower (AMT.US) rose more than 7%. On October 8, it was reported that SpaceX agreed to acquire nationwide low-frequency spectrum for about $8 billion, aiming to enhance satellite mobile communication services. The related spectrum can improve signal penetration, and the expansion of terrestrial networks may continue to drive demand for communication tower construction. The deal raised expectations that SpaceX may lease available space on existing communication towers in the future to support its ambition to become one of the major wireless operators in the United States. It is noted that Crown Castle International owns, operates, and leases about 40,000 cellular communication towers in the US, providing infrastructure for wireless connectivity; the SpaceX spectrum acquisition increases its relevance to terrestrial network construction and tower leasing.
