Apple (AAPL.US) October Second Launch Event Incoming! First Touchscreen MacBook and New iPad mini Unveiled, M6 Chip and Smart Home Ecosystem Released Together
Apple (AAPL.US) is scheduled to launch a comprehensive new smart home strategy next week and plans to hold a second event in October to unveil its first touchscreen MacBook and the new iPad mini.
According to Golden Ten Data APP, Apple (AAPL.US) is set to launch an overhauled smart home strategy next week and plans to hold a second launch event in October to unveil its first touchscreen MacBook and a new iPad mini. According to sources familiar with the matter, this product launch event is scheduled for around October 27 (Tuesday). The end-of-month event will also include 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac models equipped with M6 chips.
Similar to the smart home launch on October 13, the next event will feature both an online video demonstration and an in-person media segment. The Mac and iPad launches will target creative professionals engaged in video production, photo editing, and music creation. The last time Apple held such a product showcase in Los Angeles was in 2024.
These new releases are part of a record-breaking product lineup under CEO John Ternus's leadership. He took over last month, aiming to lead the tech giant into new markets and boost related service revenues. A spokesperson for Apple, headquartered in Cupertino, California, declined to comment.
Next week's smart home event will introduce Apple's first smart home hub with a screen, a new HomePod mini, and an upgraded Apple TV set-top box, all centered around the Siri AI assistant. Apple will also introduce a smart home ecosystem that includes accessories from LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. Apple is seeking to reverse its fortunes in the smart home market and better compete with Amazon and Google's Alphabet subsidiary. Meanwhile, Amazon this week launched an important new tablet product line centered around its Alexa+ platform.
The Mac and iPad launch event will mark Apple's long-awaited entry into touchscreen computers. The new MacBook Pro models, codenamed K114 and K116, will be lighter than current models and feature OLED screens. OLED, or organic light-emitting diode, is a display technology offering greater clarity. These devices will also feature the “Dynamic Island” interactive screen interface familiar to iPhone users.
The new M6 Mac computers—codenamed J804 and J833—will look similar to current versions; the new iPad mini—codenamed J510—will also feature an OLED screen, a videoconferencing camera repositioned to the landscape edge, and a redesigned speaker system. Apple is also planning to launch several more new Mac and iPad models in the first half of next year.
