Bitcoin traded near $85,800 on Monday, coinciding with the cycle-bottom date of October 5, 2026, a timeframe previously suggested by an anonymous post on the online forum 4chan. This upward movement represents a 49% gain from Bitcoin’s low of approximately $57,700, recorded on July 1, according to calculations by Cryptopolitan.
Bitcoin trades 49% above July low, analysts expect $50,000–$55,000 floor by late 2026
4chan’s prediction model draws attention
The anonymous 4chan post, which appeared on December 12, 2023, on the platform’s business board and is stored in the Warosu archive, outlined a recurring four-leg pattern based on previous Bitcoin market cycles. The pattern described phases of steady gains over 1,064 days, followed by corrections lasting 364 days.
From the 2015 low to the 2017 high, Bitcoin saw 1,064 days of growth before declining for 364 days to its 2018 low. This sequence repeated from the 2018 low to the 2021 peak, and the anonymous author projected that the next all-time high would occur on October 6, 2025.
“People want to believe otherwise but the simulation will repeat itself,” the unidentified poster asserted, referencing the cycle-driven nature of Bitcoin’s price history.
The post did not specifically identify a date for the cycle’s bottom, but applying its math—counting 364 days from the forecast high—points to October 5, 2026, which aligns with the recent market price activity.

Recent price action and analyst perspectives
Recent trading saw Bitcoin touch $86,970, only $430 below its late-September peak of near $87,400 before a slight pullback of about $1,000. Monday’s rally failed to surpass this recent high for the second time within a week.
Friday’s U.S. employment data, which showed only 29,000 new jobs in September, reportedly reduced pressure on the Federal Reserve to continue raising interest rates.
Bitcoin currently trades about 32% below its October 2025 cycle high of $126,198. Compared with prior cycles that experienced price drops of over 80%, 21Shares, a Swiss-based provider of crypto exchange-traded products, commented that the 2026 market correction has been less severe. The second quarter of 2026 saw a 14% decline, with a rebound in July keeping third-quarter performance in positive territory.

| 2021 Cycle | $69,000 | $15,500 | 77% | Yes |

Outlook for the next bottom
Analyst forecasts reported by Cryptopolitan indicate that several research desks expect the next major cycle low to occur between October and December 2026, with a projected floor of $50,000 to $55,000 for Bitcoin. Some analysts consider the third quarter of 2026 as a potential timeframe for this low. A separate analysis proposed that, should exchange-traded fund (ETF) demand help limit price declines, the market could form a bottom in the summer of 2026 so long as the drawdown remains less than 70% from the peak.
The April 2024 halving, which reduces the Bitcoin block reward for miners, features in many market cycle models. Historical cycles suggest major lows often arrive 24 to 28 months after this event. In previous cycles, so-called capitulation was marked by substantial price crashes: $3,200 in December 2018 and $15,500 at the end of 2022.
Typically, the fourth quarter is considered to fall 12 to 15 months after a cyclical peak—a pattern observed in past Bitcoin bear markets. However, the research warns that an economic recession or stricter regulatory measures could push a potential bottom into the first quarter of 2027.
At the time of reporting, Bitcoin was valued at approximately $86,190, representing a 1.1% rise over the previous 24 hours.
