According to foreign media reports, sources reveal that Broadcom (AVGO.US)'s Wall Street syndicate is starting to raise $60 billion in a new round of AI chip financing to support companies such as Anthropic. Banks participating in this massive debt financing plan are preparing to send syndication invitations to investors for a $42 billion tranche of Class A senior secured debt. Blackstone Group is leading an $18 billion tranche of Class B subordinated debt financing and plans to commit $9 billion from its various funds, with the remainder to be syndicated. This financing plan has been in the works for several weeks. Industry insiders from Wall Street and Silicon Valley are closely monitoring the deal, hoping to gauge whether investors are still willing to provide funding for AI infrastructure expansion. Broadcom is seeking to sell more chips and other data center hardware in competition with NVIDIA; meanwhile, AI companies such as Anthropic require ever more computational power. Sources said in August this year that this potential deal will help companies including Anthropic gain access to chips and other critical AI infrastructure.
