Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Rise Modestly in Wednesday Trading

10:49 AM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were tracking modestly higher Wednesday morning, rising 0.16% to 2,993.26 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index. From North Asia, the gainers were led by used car marketplace Uxin (UXIN) and fintech firm AMTD Digital (HKD), which climbed 9.3% and 5.6% respectively. They were followed by fintech company J and Friends (JF) and online game developer The9 (NCTY), which advanced 3.9% and 2.6% respectively. The decliners from North Asia were led by lender Shinhan Financial Group (SHG) and semiconductor company ASE Technology (ASX), which fell 5.2% and 1% respectively. They were followed by utilities company Korea Electric Power (KEP) and pharmaceutical company Takeda Pharmaceutical (TAK), which were down 1% and 0.6% respectively. From South Asia, the only gainers were IT firm Wipro (WIT) and lender ICICI Bank (IBN), which rose 2.2% and 1% respectively. The decliners from South Asia were led by telecommunications operator Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK) and pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY), which dropped 2.2% and 1.5% respectively. They were followed by lender HDFC Bank (HDB) and tech conglomerate Sea (SE), which lost 1.4% and 0.7% respectively.
