Eli Lilly's combination therapy enables diabetic patients to lose up to 23% of their weight.

Eli Lilly stated that a new drug combination helps diabetes patients lose up to 23% of their body weight, surpassing other drugs in similar studies and indicating that it may become Eli Lilly's most powerful weight-loss therapy to date. Eli Lilly combined an investigational compound called eloralintide with its blockbuster drug Mounjaro. Eloralintide mimics the mechanism of action of the gut hormone amylin in the body. Patients receiving the highest dose of the combination therapy lost an average of 54 pounds (approximately 24.5 kilograms), and their glycated hemoglobin dropped by 2.9%.
