Entergy Wins $13.7 Million in Government Funding to Improve Power Delivery

10:02 AM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Entergy (ETR) said Wednesday that it has won $13.7 million in funding from the US Department of Energy to upgrade the grid and improve power delivery to customers in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. The company said the investment will help it provide more reliable, affordable electricity by deploying dynamic line rating technology and implementing substation and terminal upgrades across 1,125 miles of existing transmission lines. Entergy said the four-year project is designed to increase transfer capability by at least 25% on selected transmission corridors, with early modeling indicating a 29% to 61% potential increase in available power capacity in the project area.
