Firefly Aerospace Signs Commercial Payload With Starcloud for Orbiting AI Data Centers

08:43 AM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Firefly Aerospace (FLY) said Wednesday it has signed a new commercial payload agreement with Starcloud to demonstrate advanced artificial intelligence computing in lunar orbit. Starcloud is a tech startup intended to design, build and deploy solar-powered data centers. Firefly said Starcloud's computing payload will ride aboard its Elytra orbital vehicle to validate the core capabilities of a data center around the Moon that can support lunar surface and orbital infrastructure. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
