Lyft Launches App Access in Europe for North American Riders

08:40 AM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Lyft (LYFT) North American riders will be able to use the app in cities across Europe, beginning immediately with early access in Barcelona and Hamburg, the company said Wednesday. The app will become available throughout October for riders in London, Rome, Paris, Berlin, Athens, and Warsaw and accessible in Spain, Italy, Greece, Poland, England, Scotland, Ireland, Austria, France, and Germany by the end of the month, the company said. The Lyft app works by connecting to a third-party rideshare platform through a new backend framework created specifically for Lyft's expansion into Europe, the company said. European riders currently can use the Freenow by Lyft and Gett by Lyft apps, the company said.
