Redwire, Sophia Space Sign MoU on Orbital Data Centers

04:01 AM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Redwire (RDW) and Sophia Space has signed a memorandum of understanding to move ahead on the deployment of computing infrastructure in orbit, the companies said Wednesday. The deal aims to combine Sophia Space's modular orbital computing expertise with Redwire's technology offerings into space systems, solar power, temperature management, and spacecraft design. The companies plan to consider demonstration missions as well as establishment of durable orbital data center tools, they said. They also plan to pursue US government and commercial contracts, including potential deals with DARPA, the Air Force Research Laboratory, the Space Development Agency, and the National Reconnaissance Office, they said.
