Boeing Company Wins Navy F/A-XX Sixth-Generation Fighter Contract

07:42 PM EDT, 09/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing Company (BA) said Tuesday the US Navy selected it to design, build and deliver the F/A-XX, the service's sixth-generation fighter, under a multibillion-dollar contract. The F/A-XX is intended to replace the Navy's fleet of F/A-18 Super Hornets, the company said, adding that the award is Boeing's second sixth-generation fighter win, following the U.S. Air Force's F-47 program in 2025.
