The US Dollar Index, which measures the greenback against six major currencies, rose 0.22% on the day, closing at 101.197 in the forex market. By the end of trading in New York, 1 euro exchanged for 1.1368 US dollars, down from 1.1399 US dollars in the previous session; 1 pound exchanged for 1.3261 US dollars, up from 1.3252 US dollars in the previous session. One US dollar exchanged for 157.40 yen, higher than the previous session’s 157.13 yen; 1 US dollar exchanged for 0.8319 Swiss francs, up from 0.8282 Swiss francs in the previous session; 1 US dollar exchanged for 1.4171 Canadian dollars, higher than the previous session’s 1.4144 Canadian dollars; 1 US dollar exchanged for 9.9537 Swedish kronor, up from 9.9045 Swedish kronor in the previous session.
