Due to factors such as escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, international oil prices rose on the 28th. During the European trading session, both US oil and Brent oil saw gains exceeding 4% at one point, before narrowing afterwards. Global inflation expectations intensified as a result, leading to a surge in government bond yields across multiple countries. Consequently, investor interest in non-interest-bearing assets such as precious metals weakened, causing international gold and silver prices to decline. As of 23:25 Beijing time on the 28th, the spot price of gold was $4,125.39 per ounce, down 3.75%; the spot price of silver was $61.063 per ounce, down 5.00%. In terms of futures, the gold futures price for December delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange was $4,154.70 per ounce, down 3.85%; the silver futures price for December delivery was $61.415 per ounce, down 5.23%. US crude oil short-term trading recommendation: cautiously go short when prices are high, and cautiously go long when prices are low.

1. Analysis: Middle Eastern crude oil shipments have returned to near pre-conflict levels. Saudi Arabia’s east-west pipeline has recovered half of its capacity, and the US plans to release 40 millions barrels from its strategic reserves, significantly easing supply concerns. However, the stalemate in US-Iran negotiations remains unresolved, and geopolitical risk premiums may continue to be volatile. EIA data show an unexpected increase of 922,000 barrels in crude inventories, but distillate inventories fell sharply by 2.25 millions barrels and are about 14% below the five-year average, indicating structural divergence of “crude oil surplus and fuel shortage.” Oil prices are consolidating around the $90 pivot, and may continue to fluctuate within a range in the short term. 2. Focus: Middle East geopolitical matters, OPEC+ statements, G7 reserve releases, and inventory changes. 3. Resistance: 92.02; 93.67; 96.54. 4. Support: 88.12; 87.30; 85.12.
