Corporacion America Airports Says Argentina Approves Changes to Aeropuertos Concession Deal

10:07 AM EDT, 09/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Corporacion America Airports (CAAP) said Monday that Argentina's government has approved changes to the terms of the concession agreement given to its Aeropuertos Argentina unit, including the extension of the contract to February 2056. The agreement was extended by 11 years to restore the economic and financial equilibrium of the concession and by an extra 7 years as compensation for $600 million in direct investments pledged by Aeropuertos Argentina, the company said. The investment program is expected to be about $7.3 billion to be funded mainly by trusts, including about $1.5 billion that will be deployed in the 2027 to 2031 period across the airports covered by the concession, according to a statement. The amount of investments not supported by trusts is $600 million, the company said. The concession fee payable by Aeropuertos Argentina will still be 15% of gross revenue and will be allocated among the trusts set up to finance the airports' infrastructure projects, the company said. The parties have also agreed on an economic and financial plan that is expected to yield an internal rate of return of 14.3%, the company said.
