Reconnaissance Energy Africa Resumes Operations at Kavango West Well in Namibia

09:58 AM EDT, 09/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Reconnaissance Energy Africa (RECO.V) has resumed operations at Kavango West 1X Sidetrack discovery well in Namibia, the company said Monday. Reconnaissance said flow test samples from the well indicate thermogenic gas, having maturities ranging from late oil to early gas. An upcoming horizontal test will help determine liquid composition and liquid yields from the gas stream, the company said. Meanwhile, Reconnaissance said preliminary results from a soil sampling program at its acreage in Angola suggests a working petroleum system that is thermogenic with liquid content potential. The company's plans in 2027 includes a 2D seismic program that would outline the structural trend of the Damara Fold Belt.
