Assured Guaranty Commits $248 Million to Support Brightline Florida Restructuring

05:40 AM EDT, 09/25/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Assured Guaranty's (AGO) unit Assured Guaranty agreed to provide up to $248 million in financing as part of Brightline Florida's restructuring, including for certain Chapter 11 entities, the company said Friday. Under a restructuring support agreement, Brightline Trains Florida will receive $490 million of new capital upon exiting bankruptcy, comprising $350 million of junior debt and $140 million of additional senior debt, with Assured Guaranty committing $70 million of the senior debt. Meanwhile, Brightline Florida financial stakeholders agreed to provide $258 million of post-petition funding, with Assured Guaranty committing up to $178 million during the bankruptcy process.
