Encompass Health Plans to Expand Inpatient Rehabilitation Capacity in Montgomery County, Texas

05:00 PM EDT, 09/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Encompass Health (EHC) said late Thursday it plans to expand inpatient rehabilitation capacity in the greater Houston area through two projects in Montgomery County, Texas. These projects include its first small-format inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Conroe and a replacement hospital for its current inpatient rehabilitation hospital in The Woodlands, the company said. The 24-bed Conroe hospital is expected to open in late 2027, while the replacement hospital is expected to open in 2029. Both hospitals will serve patients recovering from major illnesses and injuries, including stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions, the company said.
