Sector Update: Tech

01:14 PM EDT, 09/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were lower Thursday afternoon, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) declining 0.3% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) down 0.2%. The Philadelphia Semiconductor index was shedding 0.4%. In corporate news, Oracle (ORCL) issued a force majeure notice to Project Jupiter's developer, a unit of Blue Owl Capital (OWL), seeking to defer payments if its planned New Mexico data center is delayed and fails to come online in 2028 as planned, Bloomberg reported. Oracle shares were down 3.9%.
