Sector Update: Consumer

09:00 AM EDT, 09/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed premarket Thursday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) 0.8% higher and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) down 0.1%. Darden Restaurants (DRI) shares were down more than 1% after the company posted higher fiscal Q1 adjusted earnings and revenue, but revenue fell short of analysts' expectations.
