Top Researcher Declares The Next XRP Major Phase. This Is Must Watch
XRP’s next stage could focus increasingly on how financial institutions use the asset for cross-border settlement.
Crypto researcher SMQKE focused on this in a recent post, saying, “The next phase for XRP is the utility phase.” He accompanied the statement with a video from a Blockchain Venture Summit that explains how banks could eventually use XRP to move value between currencies without holding balances in multiple jurisdictions.
Banks Could Use XRP for Cross-Border Settlement
The speaker begins by explaining that the current implementation of xCurrent uses fiat currencies. He then describes a future system where banks could choose whether to use XRP when settling international transactions.
The speaker gives the example of a German bank that needs to send Turkish lira. Instead of holding Turkish lira, the German bank could ask another institution whether it can accept XRP and provide Turkish lira.
Under this model, the German bank could send XRP equivalent to 100 lira or one million lira. The receiving institution could then provide the required amount of Turkish lira. The process could allow banks to settle transactions instantly without maintaining balances in the currencies involved.
The speaker describes this outcome as the strategy’s “ultimate end goal”.
Banking Connectivity Would Come First
However, the speaker explains that banks must establish connectivity before they can reach that stage. He says financial institutions would first connect to the system and use it to improve the services they already provide.
Once banks become comfortable with the technology, they could build additional services around it. The speaker describes this as a phased strategy that reflects how banks typically adopt new financial infrastructure.
The next challenge would emerge when a bank wants to expand its operations across many countries. The speaker explains that a bank might operate in 100 countries but would not necessarily want to maintain currency balances in all 100 markets. That situation could create a use case for XRP. Instead of holding currencies, a bank could use XRP to facilitate transactions as needed.
SMQKE Places Utility at the Center
SMQKE’s post presents this banking use case as part of what he calls XRP’s next phase. Rather than a separate price target or market prediction, the researcher highlighted XRP’s potential role in financial infrastructure.
The video does not claim that banks have already adopted XRP on this scale. Instead, the speaker describes a potential progression from connectivity and existing banking services toward broader cross-border settlement.
