Aurora Expects to End 2026 With 200 Driverless Trucks in Operation; Aims for Over 30,000 by 2030

09:49 AM EDT, 09/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Aurora Innovation (AUR) said Wednesday that it expects to end the year with 200 driverless trucks in operation through transport-as-a-service agreements. The autonomous trucking firm said Hirschbach plans to own and operate 500 trucks through a driver-as-a-service agreement, with truck deliveries slated to begin in 2027, and Aurora has set a target of more than 30,000 driverless trucks in operation by 2030. Aurora said it has completed more than 500,000 driverless miles since commercial launch and is in negotiations with additional customers for driver-as-a-service agreements.
