Grab, OpenAI Launch AI Skills Program in Southeast Asia

07:21 AM EDT, 09/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Grab (GRAB) and Microsoft (MSFT)-backed OpenAI said Wednesday that they are collaborating to conduct an artificial intelligence skills training for about 30,000 Grab drivers, merchants and delivery riders across Southeast Asia over the next two years. The companies said they launched the program in Singapore first, with plans to expand to Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines later this year. The two-year program will provide participants with three months of free ChatGPT Plus access and practical AI training, the companies said. In Singapore, workshops will focus on using ChatGPT for business planning, sales analysis, financials and market opportunities, the companies said. Grab and Microsoft shares were up 1.6% and 1%, respectively, pre-bell Wednesday.
