GE Vernova Signs Services Deal to Extend Egypt Gas Turbine Life

07:06 AM EDT, 09/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- GE Vernova (GEV) said Wednesday it signed a services agreement to help extend the operating life of five of its 9F gas turbines at power plants in Egypt by 13 to 15 years. Under the agreement, GE said the extension at the Kureimat, Nubaria, and Cairo North plants represents a total capacity of about 1,250 megawatts The agreement is with affiliates of Egyptian Electricity Holding Company, or EEHC, including Upper Egypt Electricity Production, Middle Delta Electricity Production and Cairo Electricity Production, and was endorsed by EEHC, GE Vernova said. The project will use GE Vernova's Rotor Life Extension services to assess the remaining life of turbine components and support their continued operation, according to the company.
