Canadian National Railway Ships First Train From Expanded Illinois Grain Facility

04:03 PM EDT, 09/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Canadian National Railway (CNR.TO, CNI) and Total Grain Marketing said Tuesday that CN shipped the first unit train from TGM's expanded grain elevator in Lis, Illinois, on Sept. 16. The expansion adds a new 115-car loop track, replacing the previous 25-car footprint, along with more grain storage, receiving and shipping capacity, the companies said. The facility now has 3.1 million bushels of storage and three truck dump pits that can receive up to 85,000 bushels per hour, they added. "CN continues to work closely with customers and supply chain partners to bring new projects online, supporting long-term economic growth while strengthening the resilience and competitiveness of North American supply chains," the statement said.
