Daily Roundup of Key US Economic Data for Sept. 22

02:32 PM EDT, 09/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Philadelphia Fed's services measure fell to minus 22.0 in September from minus 10.6 in August, while the Richmond Fed's services reading rose to 0 from minus 8. The Richmond Fed's manufacturing index fell to minus 2 in September from 4 in August. Redbook reported that US same-store retail sales were up 7.6% year-over-year in the week ended Sept. 19, slower than an 8.5% gain in the prior week due to warmer-than-usual weather than depressed seasonal sales.
