SUI Price Live: What Is Driving the Latest SUI Price Surge?

SUI surged nearly 18% on Monday, breaking above $1 and reaching $1.05 as Bitcoin climbed past $85,000 and Layer-1 tokens strengthened. The rally extended a rebound from last Tuesday’s $0.67 weekly low. The token later reached about $1.08, representing a roughly 57% recovery from that level.

CoinMarketCap data showed the token trading around $1.05, gaining approximately 6% over the latest 24 hours and 44% across the week. Daily trading volume increased 31%, while derivatives open interest rose around 11%, signaling increased market participation during the advance.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin gained 4.43%, while total cryptocurrency market capitalization increased 3.51%. The broader Layer-1 category added 4.18% over 24 hours. Those figures show that Sui’s rally occurred alongside wider market strength, although its percentage gains exceeded both Bitcoin and the Layer-1 sector.

Bitcoin’s move above $85,000 provided the strongest market-wide backdrop for the latest advance. The cryptocurrency reached its highest level in roughly eight months, coinciding with stronger buying across several Layer-1 assets.

Against that broader rally, SUI gained 44% over the week, showing stronger momentum than the Layer-1 category’s 4.18% daily increase. Derivatives activity also expanded.

Open interest increased about 11%, which analysts interpreted as fresh positioning rather than simply liquidation-driven price movement. However, momentum weakened after the token peaked near $1.08.

The price subsequently retraced toward $0.99, placing the recent breakout under renewed examination. Sustained Bitcoin strength above $85,000 remains an important market condition as broader altcoin momentum strengthened alongside Bitcoin’s advance.

A second factor emerged on September 21, when Mysten Labs teased an undisclosed finance-focused product ahead of Sui Basecamp 2026.

Sui Basecamp is scheduled for October 7–8 in Singapore and will focus on agentic finance, payments, instant settlement, and private transactions. Trading activity also accelerated around the announcement. One cited dataset showed volume rising 47.5% to $1.98 billion.

Because the product remains undisclosed, the teaser represents a source of increased market attention rather than a confirmed fundamental driver. Technically, the immediate structure centers on the $0.954 breakout level.

Holding above $0.954 keeps the short-term structure intact, with $1.0370 remaining an important near-term price area. Above that level, resistance sits near $1.15, corresponding with the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement.

However, a break below $0.954 would weaken the structure and expose the $0.81 region, which aligns with the 23.6% Fibonacci level. Overall, the latest SUI surge reflects broader crypto strength, Layer-1 rotation, expanding trading activity, rising open interest, and increased attention before Sui Basecamp.

On Wednesday, the S&P 500 fell more than 1%, but Apple defied the trend, with its market capitalization officially surpassing $5 trillion, becoming the second company worldwide to reach this milestone after Nvidia. This market value breakthrough coincides with Cook stepping down and new CEO Ternus taking over. However, challenges such as Apple's shortcomings in AI and OpenAI's ambitions in hardware are creating undercurrents at the top of this $5 trillion summit.

CoreWeave Dilemma for Nvidia: Forced to Rescue or Stand By?

As both a shareholder of CoreWeave and its sole GPU supplier, Nvidia now faces a dilemma after the sharp decline in CoreWeave's stock price. If it intervenes, each rescue strengthens expectations of a safety net, raises the threshold for future rescues, and risks getting further entangled in this high-leverage game. If it does not intervene, CoreWeave's liquidity crisis will directly cut off demand for GPU purchases, simultaneously devaluing Nvidia's equity investment and severely damaging its market reputation.

US CPI Heats Up Across the Board, Triggering "Inflation Spiral" Alert; October Rate Hike Odds Once Hit 50%. "New Fed News Agency": Watch Waller's Speech This Week

After the CPI was released, the market-implied rate hike probability first rose to 50% before falling back to 40%. Wall Street generally believes that whether action will be taken in October still depends on how the Federal Reserve assesses inflation trends. "The New Fed News Agency" noted that, unlike in August when price increases were concentrated in certain items, the stronger-than-expected performance of September's core CPI was more broad-based, further reinforcing the case for a December rate hike. The speech by Waller on Friday morning Beijing time is his last public statement before the Fed's blackout period ahead of this month's meeting. Economists are warning about an "inflation spiral," with real purchasing power and midterm election pressures interweaving.
