Redbook US Same-Store Sales Growth Slows in Week Ended Sept. 19

08:55 AM EDT, 09/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Redbook US same-store sales rose by 7.6% from a year earlier in the week ended Sept. 19 after an 8.5% year-over-year increase in the previous week. Redbook noted light traffic and soft weekend sales as the focus shifted to fall items. Apparel sales, usually the driver at this point in September, appear to have been depressed by warmer-than-normal weather, Redbook said. Through the third selling week for September, sales were up 8.2% compared with September 2025, below the target for an 8.5% gain, Redbook said.
