Sun Life to Redeem CA$500 Million of 2.46% Subordinated Debentures

08:26 AM EDT, 09/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Sun Life Financial (SLF.TO, SLF) intends to redeem all of the outstanding CA$500 million of Series 2021-1 Subordinated Unsecured 2.46% Fixed/Floating Debentures, it said in a statement late Monday. The company will fund the redemption using existing cash and liquid assets. The debentures are redeemable at Sun Life's option on or after Nov. 18, at a redemption price per debenture equal to the principal amount together with accrued and unpaid interest to the date of redemption, it said. Shares of the company closed up 0.5% to CA$114.4 on Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
