Sector Update: Healthcare

03:21 PM EDT, 09/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Healthcare stocks rose late Monday afternoon with the NYSE Healthcare Index increasing 0.6% and the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) adding 0.8%. The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) climbed 1.4%. In corporate news, Eli Lilly's (LLY) oral drug Foundayo now makes up one-third of new GLP-1 pill patients, CNBC reported, citing CEO Dave Ricks. Lilly broke ground on a $6.5 billion Houston manufacturing plant expected to be operational by 2030, the report also said. Lilly shares rose 0.9%.
