01:07 PM EDT, 09/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed Monday afternoon, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) fractionally lower and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) rising 1.3%. In corporate news, Paramount Skydance (PSKY) has reached a settlement agreement with California and other states that sued to block the company's proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), Bloomberg reported. Paramount and Warner Bros. shares each jumped about 11%.
