Ameresco Chosen for US Army Power Projects; Terrestrial Energy to Supply Reactor Technology

10:41 AM EDT, 09/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Ameresco (AMRC) and Terrestrial Energy (IMSR) said Monday the US Army selected Ameresco to enter exclusive negotiations for long-term leases for energy facilities at military bases in Maryland and New Jersey. The planned installations at Aberdeen Proving Ground and Picatinny Arsenal will supply commercial electricity to regional power grids while supporting the bases' missions during qualifying utility outages, the companies said. Ameresco plans to pair Terrestrial Energy's 390-megawatt electric molten salt reactor technology with natural gas power at the Maryland location, they said. The companies also said the private partners will fund, design, build, operate, secure, and decommission the facilities under the arrangement.
