Kratos, GE Aerospace Successfully Ignite GEK800 Turbofan Cruise Missile Propulsion System

09:33 AM EDT, 09/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (KTOS) and GE Aerospace (GE) said Monday that they have successfully ignited the GEK800 turbofan cruise missile propulsion system at the X-58 test facility. This milestone marks the start of a new testing campaign for the cruise missile technology, the companies said. The GEK800 is designed to meet the defined requirements of the Department of War for long-range, stand-off strike capabilities, the two companies said.
