Deep Fission, Youngquist Brothers Collaborate on Borehole Drilling for Underground Reactors

09:29 AM EDT, 09/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Deep Fission (FISN) said Monday it is collaborating with Youngquist Brothers to evaluate and test drilling and borehole-construction methods for its underground nuclear reactor deployment model. The companies have completed an equipment demonstration in which Deep Fission lowered and retrieved a 30-inch prototype reactor canister into a 34-inch borehole at a depth of about 100 feet using Youngquist's drilling equipment, Deep Fission said. Deep Fission said it is targeting commercial deployment in 2027.
