Novo Nordisk's Weight-Loss, Diabetes Drug Candidate Meets Primary Goals

07:46 AM EDT, 09/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Novo Nordisk's (NVO) investigational once-weekly weight-loss and diabetes treatment CagriSema was superior to tirzepatide and met its primary superiority endpoint in two phase 3 trials, respectively, the company said Monday. In one study, CagriSema achieved an average weight loss of 12.4%, compared with 9.1% for tirzepatide, the company said. In the other study, CagriSema provided a weight reduction of 21% versus 2% for a placebo, the company said. CagriSema also showed improvements compared with the placebo in other prespecified supportive endpoints including blood pressure, waist-to-height ratio, and fasting lipid profile, the company said.
