On (ONON) said Friday it has partnered with soccer star Kylian Mbappe, where he will directly work with product teams engaged in the testing and development of soccer footwear and apparel. Mbappe will also represent the company as a global ambassador, according to the company. On said it also appointed former France and Arsenal player Thierry Henry as its director of football. The company plans to use its LightSpray shoemaking technology in its football products, according to a statement. Nike (NKE) chose not to renew its endorsement deal with Mbappe, CNBC reported, citing a person familiar with the matter. Nike decided to use its endorsement spending elsewhere after determining it had benefited from Mbappe's prime years, the report said.
