US leading indicators decline in August for the first time since March

Conference Board Senior Manager of Business Cycle Indicators: The U.S. Leading Index saw a slight decline in August, marking the first monthly drop since March this year. Of the ten component indicators, four declined compared to the previous month, with consumer expectations continuing to be a significant drag on the index. The number of building permits also fell month-on-month, with decreases in both single-family and multi-family home categories, and almost all regions recorded a decline.
